Picture of the Day: July 20

Ok, so I will be very upfront and admit that just this once I'm bending the rules. I did take pictures on the 20th, but this picture was actually taken the following day. But I'm bending the rules for a good reason, I promise!

Mark and I found out today that the bank accepted the offer we made several months ago on a short sale, and barring any major disasters, this is our house! :) It was built in 1902, and while you can't see much of it from this angle, trust me, it's a cool house. It's shaped like a C with a courtyard in the middle, has 3 (or 4?) bedrooms and 2 (eventually 3) full baths. It sits on an acre of land, so we'll have a huge backyard, and there's a tiny stream at the very back of the property. While it is an older house, the previous owners did a lot of upgrades, including a new kitchen, Brazilian cherry floors, and central air on the first floor.

One of the conditions of the sale is that we have to close on (or as close as possible to) August 10th, so hopefully everything will go relatively smoothly. We still have to get through the FHA inspection and we know it needs a few repairs before we can close, but hopefully we'll be able to get everything wrapped up in time. We'll see!
