It was a LOT of fun. We stayed in the pattern, but the instructor let me do a lot of the flying and demonstrated several types of approaches. After flying fixed wing planes for so long, it was a lot of fun to try helicopters...one of the best parts was being able to cut straight across the taxiway and grass and do a midfield takeoff without having to spend 5 minutes taxiing to the runway!
