Picture of the Day: March 16

Today the weather actually somewhat cooperated and I got to fly the Twin Comanche! It was a lot of fun, though it did take a few minutes to get used to having two throttles and using differential power while taxiing. We stuck to the basics today: straight and level, steep turns, slow flight, power off stalls, and a landing.

The view out the side window is a little different than the view in my plane. :)

Since my multi lesson was done by 1:30pm, Mark and I decided to squeeze in a short hike in the afternoon...so off to Shenandoah we went!

We hiked the Millers Head Trail. It's only supposed to be 1.6 miles round trip, but since they closed the road to the parking area it turned out to be a bit longer since we had to walk a bit just to get to the start of the trail.

Mark was sitting dramatically on the wall at the overlook.

There was still some snow on the ground along the sides of a few of the roads. After I tossed a couple smaller snowballs at Mark, he decided to retaliate.
