Picture of the Day: May 14

I've been feeling a little under the weather the past few days and the weather has been pretty crappy, too, so it's time for a change of pace: my first guest blogger! The normal Picture of the Day will resume tomorrow.

Meet Mrs. Peep! Today she's going to teach you how to make corn muffins.

First make sure you have all the ingredients. It's hard to make muffins without ingredients.

OK, we have everything: milk, eggs, and muffin mix. And wine.

Now everything except the wine goes in the bowl. The wine goes in the glass. Mix up all the stuff in the bowl. Don't mix the wine with the spoon; you'll have floaty blobs of muffin in your wine. Yuck.

The muffin mix says the muffin stuff needs to sit for a few minutes once you mix it all up. Use the time to put all the other stuff back in the fridge. And top off your wine.

Well, the box says let the muffin mix sit for 3 or 4 minutes before you put it in the muffin tin thingy, but since it took me about 6 minutes to empty the last glass of wine here we are. Top off your wine and put the muffin mix in the muffin pan. Use those little pan liner thingys if you don't feel like washing the pan when you're done.

Put the muffins in the oven. Duh. How else did you expect them to turn into muffins? If you're feeling ambitious put the dirty dishes in the sink. If not, who cares.

Top off your wine. It's takes 15 to 20 minutes for the muffins to cook, so repeat this step if needed.

Wow...already? Fine. Take the muffins out of the oven.

They need to cool. Finish the wine.

MUFFINS!!! Perfect for sopping up some of that wine sloshing around in your belly.
