This is from last summer, when Zach and I went to Iceland. You know the Icelandic volcano that's in the news because it might erupt soon? It sits under the Vatnajokull glacier...which is exactly what this bit of ice here is. The glacier is huge; our glacier hike was on the southeastern part of the glacier, while the volcano that may erupt (Bárðarbunga) is miles away on the northwestern side of the glacier. Either way, I'm interested to see what happens!
