Today my friend John came to visit! Way back in the day he used to be one of my flight students, but he's become one of my closest friends. Moe was happy to see him, too. :)
Since the weather was fantastic and John had never been to Shenandoah National Park, we decided to go hiking. We decided to hike Stony Man, a 1.6 mile fairly easy hike to the summit.
The view from the summit is great!
It started raining just as we reached the top, though.
It was neat, though...you could hear the rain falling on all of the trees in the valley. (You could see it in the puddles in the rocks, too!)
We saw a mommy deer and her baby on the way down. They were a bit shy, though.
