Punta Cana Beach Day, Part One

I'll apologize in advance...the next few posts are very picture heavy, even with each day split into multiple posts!

After a good night's sleep, Mark and I were ready to explore the resort a bit. It was dark when we arrived the night before, so we had no idea what the beach or the pool areas were like. We got up, grabbed breakfast at the buffet (I love eating island food for breakfast!), and made a stop at the Cheap Caribbean desk to schedule our excursion for the next day. After a stop back at the room to change into our bathing suits, it was time to start our lazy beach day!

Needless to say, it was a verrrrry nice beach.

Ooo...ocean. If there's one thing I wish I could change about where we live in Virginia, I wish we could be closer to the ocean!

There were even beds on the beach!! There was a special area off to the side for Excellence Club members with beach chairs, little thatched umbrellas, and tables for your drinks.

We walked down to the water...

...checked out the view...

...and eventually...

...picked a place to plop down. The view from our beach chairs was fantastic.

Mark borrowed a boogie board and went swimming for a bit while I just sat and enjoyed the view.

One of the nice things about sitting in the Excellence Club area...they bring around trays of snacks!! I love me some beach snacks.

Mark wasn't too impressed with the waves, so after a while he came back and we went for a walk down the beach.

We walked all the way down to the part where the beach rounded a corner. There were only a few other people around.

Looking back toward the resort...it's waaaaaay down there.

The sand was making neat patterns as the waves washed back out.

We eventually turned around and started to wander back to the resort.

We figured since we had walked all the way to one end of the beach, we might as well walk all the way to the other end, too!
